Die kleinen Gew\u00e4sser, die das Stadtgebiet Berlins durchziehen, entfalten ihre komplexe \u00d6kologie in scheinbarer Bewegungslosigkeit \u2013 ganz anders als der st\u00e4ndige Fluss der Fl\u00fcsse oder die gro\u00dfen Gezeitenbewegungen der Lagunen. Ausgehend von ihrer Performancepraxis stellt die K\u00fcnstlerin und Forscherin Dr. Margherita Pevere die F\u00e4higkeit von Teichen, lebende und sterbende Materie zu \u201ehalten\u201c und zu transformieren, in den Mittelpunkt ihrer Forschung im Rahmen des laufenden Projekts <em>CHRYSALIS. Artists in Labs<\/em>.<br><br>Ihr wichtigster Forschungspartner ist Dr. Germ\u00e1n Joosten, Postdoktorand im Bereich Umweltanthropologie am Jeschke Lab for Ecological Novelty an der Freien Universit\u00e4t Berlin. Seine Arbeit untersucht Konflikte und Zukunftsnarrative rund um die Beziehungen zwischen Mensch und Umwelt f\u00fcr das Projekt <em>POUNDER. Pollution in Urban ponds, eco-evolutionary Dynamics, and Ecosystem Resilience<\/em>, das von den Instituten IGB und ARL Leibniz durchgef\u00fchrt wird.<br><br>In dem Vortrag (vor Ort und online) werden Margherita und Germ\u00e1n ihren Austausch zwischen Kunst und Naturwissenschaft vorstellen, die Ergebnisse und Beobachtungen ihres j\u00fcngsten Workshops <em>Pond Codex: Of Life and Death in Berlin\u2019s Small Water Bodies<\/em> (10. Mai 2026) teilen und das Publikum in die flachen, aber kraftvollen Tiefen der Berliner Kleingew\u00e4sser entf\u00fchren.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><br><strong>\u00dcber CHRYSALIS. ARTISTS IN LABS<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><br>In den Jahren 2025 und 2026 f\u00fchrt Art Laboratory Berlin das neue innovative Projekt <em><a href=\"https:\/\/artlaboratory-berlin.org\/de\/forschung\/chrysalis-artists-in-labs\/\">CHRYSALIS. ARTISTS IN LABS<\/a><\/em> durch, das einen interdisziplin\u00e4ren Austausch zwischen Kunst und Naturwissenschaft in Berliner Wissenschaftslaboren vorsieht und freundlicherweise von der Lottostiftung Berlin unterst\u00fctzt wird. Aufbauend auf Berlins einzigartiger Stellung als globales Zentrum f\u00fcr Kunst und Wissenschaft wollen wir neue Synergien auf der Grundlage aktueller Forschungsthemen schaffen. In Zusammenarbeit mit einem Konsortium von Naturwissenschaftler:innen der Freien Universit\u00e4t Berlin, der Humboldt-Universit\u00e4t zu Berlin, der Technischen Universit\u00e4t Berlin, der Universit\u00e4t der K\u00fcnste Berlin, der Charit\u00e9 und dem Bernstein Center for Computational Neuroscience initiiert Art Laboratory Berlin Artist-in-Lab-Residenzen f\u00fcr vier international anerkannte, in Berlin lebende K\u00fcnstler:innen \u2013 so auch Margherita Pevere. Wir erwarten starke Ergebnisse im transdisziplin\u00e4ren Wissenstransfer, in der k\u00fcnstlerischen Forschung, in der Art-Science-Kommunikation und neue k\u00fcnstlerische Arbeiten, die die Innovationen des 21. Her practice embraces object-making, installation, performance, and writing, which she weaves seamlessly thanks to her transdisciplinary background. Her projec<\/em>t Lament on wildfire ecologies <em>was awarded the COAL Prize Transformative territories mention 2024 and she was shortlisted for the Falling Walls Awards Category Art and Science 2023 for the body of work around her concept \u2018arts of vulnerability\u2019. Among the projects she co-initiated are the exhibition <\/em>Membranes Out of Order<em> and the performance duo Fronte Vacuo. She holds a doctorate in artistic research from Aalto University.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/em><br><br><em>Born and educated in Argentina, <strong>Dr Germ\u00e1n Joosten<\/strong> is an environmental anthropologist whose work explores socio-ecological conflicts and the narrative futures of human-environment relations through transdisciplinary collaboration with diverse stakeholders. Currently he works as guest scientist at the Jeschke Lab | Ecological Novelty, FU Berlin, and is a researcher in the POUNDER project at the Leibniz Institute of Freshwater Ecology and Inland Fisheries (IGB). He earned a Doctorate in Natural Sciences in 2023 at the National University of La Plata, where he previously completed a Diploma in Biology and worked as a Teaching Assistant and Research Assistant. His doctoral thesis examined the Western Qom and the Pilcomayo River. Das neue Projekt ist ein interdisziplin\u00e4rer Austausch zwischen Kunst und Naturwissenschaft in Berliner Wissenschaftslaboren an allen drei Berliner Universit\u00e4ten, der Universit\u00e4t der K\u00fcnste Berlin und der Charit\u00e9. Mit dem Fokus auf Daphnia, einem Schl\u00fcsselorganismus, der zwischen klonaler und sexueller Fortpflanzung wechselt, untersucht der Workshop, wie dieser Organismus die Gesundheit und Zukunft der st\u00e4dtischen Gew\u00e4sser widerspiegelt.
